Starting October 26, 2020, lectures at all HSE University campuses will be held online. At the same time, the University’s buildings remain open to students and staff. Seminars will mostly remain offline. However, it is possible that some will also be transferred online.

For the first time all courses will be held online
Nikita Pershukov, a 4th-year bachelor’s student studying Information Science and Computation Technology at the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE), has placed among the Russian national team’s expanded membership for the WorldSkills Russia competition in the ‘Network and System Administration’ category. In an interview with the HSE New Service, Nikita talked about the team selection process and what lies ahead for him and his fellow teammates.
The final list represents the choices of HSE students, graduates, as well as the results of the Student Research Paper Competition.
Any student or 2020 graduate of a Russian or international university is eligible to take part in the Student Research Paper Competition. Papers can be submitted from September 1 to October 15. The competition has been held at HSE University since 2003.
Students and employees who feel unwell can go to First Aid Rooms to receive medical assistance
Pavel Samoilenko, a student at MIEM HSE, has been awarded a grant from the Innovation Promotion Foundation in support of his project which aims to develop mobile applications for navigating and visualizing 3D content inside buildings. The grant award totals 500,000 rubles.
The COVID-19 prevention measures HSE University is implementing in the new academic year
By the end of 2020, HSE scientists will launch their own satellite into low Earth orbit, which will allow them to observe the Earth via the satellite’s remote sensors. To design and create the satellite, specialists and students of MIEM HSE and the HSE Lyceum worked closely with the Sputniks company, the Sirius Education Centre, and Scanex.
When students enrol in master’s programmes at HSE University, they can count not only on getting new knowledge and skills, but a job as well. Many graduate students start working at departments of the University during their first year of study, and in most cases, their position is related to their field of study.
