Scientists at HSE MIEM have proposed a mathematical model explaining how interactions between societies can influence their stability. Based on the classical theory of evolutionary games, the study reveals an unexpected effect: even a weak informational influence of one society on another can cause one society to remain stable while the other exhibits chaotic behaviour among its individual members. The study has been published in the International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos.

Forbes Education has published its ranking of the top 20 Russian universities with the strongest reputations among employers. As in recent years, HSE University secured first place with a reputation index of 98 points. In addition, 67.2% of employers stated that they trust the quality of education provided by HSE University, an increase of three percentage points compared with last year.

On May 26, 2026, the central atrium of the building at 11 Pokrovsky Bulvar will host the annual large-scale festival of engineering developments created by project teams from the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (HSE MIEM). A new cryptographic data protection mechanism has been jointly proposed by experts from the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics, Sber, and QApp. The researchers have developed a postquantum ring signature scheme that ensures anonymity (within a defined group of participants), as well as the integrity and authentication of the source of digital transactions, even in the presence of an adversary equipped with a quantum computer.

Professor Lev Shchur has received the Henri Abraham Award 2022 for his services in organising science, including conducting international conferences and supporting early-career scientists. The award was established by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) in 2020, and has since been given to six researchers from various countries.
