From May 29 to June 18 students can vote for HSE’s best teachers of the academic year. This year there is no need to come to the university to vote. Students can submit their scores online via LMS.
May 26 marks the birthday of HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov. Although not the same age, both he and HSE are celebrating birthdays this year! At the start of 2017, IFMO Rector Vladimir Vasiliev, when presenting at the Gaidar Forum, congratulated Yaroslav Kuzminov on HSE’s 25th anniversary, saying that he was the exact same age as the University. ‘I would ask the young ladies to make note of this,’ Prof. Kuzminov quipped.
HSE has recently published information on discounts for international students applying in 2017. Tatiana Chetvernina, HSE’s Director of International Admissions, talked to our News Service about this and various other innovations concerning international students at the University.
International students enrolled in fee-paying places of HSE Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in 2017 are eligible for tuition fee discounts. Moreover, discounts will be offered to participants of HSE student competitions and graduates of HSE Pre-University programmes, as well as those potential students who have graduated from the University’s partner schools.
New regulations simplifying admissions to HSE’s doctoral programmes have been approved. The procedure includes two application waves that consider personal achievements, and offers more opportunities for those who speak foreign languages. Vice Rector Sergey Roshchin told us more about the changes.
In its 25th anniversary year, HSE has marked new achievements, entering the Top 50 in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings among universities under 30 years old, and in the Top 100 in the global Young University Rankings under 50. HSE has become the first Russian university to enter the top list of THE Young Universities, a global institutional ranking.
Each year HSE holds the Student Project Contest, which allows projects deemed important for the development of the university at least and all of society at most to receive financial, organisational, or any other type of support to help them succeed.
