HSE MIEM, an institution with 58 years of history, prepares specialists for high-tech industries. The MIEM teaching staff includes one RAS academician, four RAS corresponding members, and 34 winners of the State Prize of the Russian Federation. It also has developed close ties with leading industry institutions, including RAS institutes, global companies such as National Instruments, InfoWatch, Zyxel, QNAP and Altium Limited, as well as laboratories equipped with the latest technologies, e.g., 3D visualization, laser technologies, telecommunications, cybersecurity systems, etc., allowing MIEM to train world class experts and specialists.

HSE University Wins Autonomous Search Tech Contest for LizaAlert Search and Rescue Team
The navigation system, developed by specialists from the Laboratory for Intelligent Unmanned Systems at HSE MIEM, is designed to search for missing people and allows the unmanned vehicle to autonomously execute route missions without satellite navigation. The Autonomous Search competition is notable for its comprehensive verification of actual working technologies. Out of 50 applications submitted, 15 were admitted to the qualification round, and four teams advanced to the finals.

HSE Researchers Join BESIII Collaboration to Study Charmed Hadrons
HSE University has joined the international BESIII (Beijing Spectrometer III) collaboration in high-energy physics. This marks the first practical outcome of the memorandum of cooperation signed in 2025 between HSE University and the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) in Beijing, China.

‘My Mobility Year Taught Me to Approach New Environments More Calmly and Communicate with Completely Different People’
Roman Aminev, a fourth-year student of the Information Science and Computation Technology programme at HSE MIEM, spent his last academic year in Hungary, where he studied at Óbuda University under the academic mobility programme. In Budapest, he not only joined the educational process but also learned how to face everyday challenges and solve academic issues. He had the opportunity to meet people from all over the world, and tell them about his country and HSE University. In the interview, Roman told us how his one-year immersion into an unfamiliar life had changed him.
