For ten years now, HSE has been holding an annual grant competition for researchers who wish to start new international laboratories at HSE in collaboration with leading foreign scholars and scientists. The most recent competition reached its conclusion this past November, and now some of the selected proposed labs have already begun operation. LG Electronics and the Higher School of Economics have announced the launch of a special collaborative educational project. A new computer classroom will provide students of engineering, industrial design, and computer programming the opportunity to study the most modern tools and methods of design using equipment designed for rapidly developing disciplines and the higher technological demands of their results. With a 21:9 aspect ratio, these monitors are currently the most conducive to solving such complex tasks at work and in school.
Professor Lev Shchur, Academic Supervisor of the master's programme in Supercomputer Simulations in Science and Engineering, and Professor Hai-Qing Lin, Director of Beijing Computational Science Research Center (CSRC) have signed a cooperation agreement for implementing a joint research project in computational physics and high performance computing.
HSE and Samsung Electronics have signed an agreement to jointly implement the ‘IoT Samsung Academy’ programme. As part of this agreement, MIEM will start teaching specialists in the Internet of Things (IoT) from September 2018.
HSE has been implementing LMS (Learning Management System) — an electronic system of education process support – for several years. A new service, called ‘Student Electronic Portfolio’ (StEP), which is based on LMS and gathers information about students’ achievements in various fields has been developed by the Administrative Staff Development Programme project group.
On October 10, 2016, Altium Limited, a leading software company providing PC-based electronics design software for engineers, announced the start of its partnership with the HSE Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM). MIEM and Altium plan to work together in the education and training of hi-tech specialists.
