HSE MIEM Starts Partnership with Altium Limited

On October 10, 2016, Altium Limited, a leading software company providing PC-based electronics design software for engineers, announced the start of its partnership with the HSE Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM). MIEM and Altium plan to work together in the education and training of hi-tech specialists.

'We are focused on providing support to students and aim at offering technical universities quality solutions for education. In addition, we help universities to develop teaching methodologies based on our software products. Altium has an ambitious goal for Russia – to turn young graduates into in-demand specialists in the tech sector,’ – says Oleg Iliukin, Senior Territory Manager at Altium Limited in Russia and the CIS.

As part of this partnership, Altium Limited will provide HSE students with access to AltiumDesigner 16.1 – a licensed solution for the design of electronic devices. Furthermore, we will also offer assistance in the development of study methodologies.

‘We think that our cooperation with Altium Limited will help us to acquaint students with solutions, which are currently used in the development of electronic components in many hi-tech industries. It will also help them to acquire knowledge and skills that are required on the market. In addition, we hope that using quality solutions for computer-aided design will not only improve the quality of education at HSE MIEM, but also enhance the development of the entire electronics industry in Russia,’ – says Sergey Polesskiy, Associate Professor at the HSE School of Computer Engineering.
