The Best Teachers 2017 competition at HSE recently reached its completion. Although the overall procedure this year was the same as it was in 2016, the financial terms changed – the bonuses for the winners have been increased. Vadim Radaev, First Vice Rector of HSE, told us about the vote and some of the perks for all of the winners.
Professor Krouk is a renowned scholar from St. Petersburg, an expert in information systems and technologies, cryptography, and data transfer. Until recently, he was Vice Rector for Research and Director at an institute at the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation.
From May 29 to June 18 students can vote for HSE’s best teachers of the academic year. This year there is no need to come to the university to vote. Students can submit their scores online via LMS.
May 26 marks the birthday of HSE Rector Yaroslav Kuzminov. Although not the same age, both he and HSE are celebrating birthdays this year! At the start of 2017, IFMO Rector Vladimir Vasiliev, when presenting at the Gaidar Forum, congratulated Yaroslav Kuzminov on HSE’s 25th anniversary, saying that he was the exact same age as the University. ‘I would ask the young ladies to make note of this,’ Prof. Kuzminov quipped.
Each year HSE holds the Student Project Contest, which allows projects deemed important for the development of the university at least and all of society at most to receive financial, organisational, or any other type of support to help them succeed.
The HSE Academic Council session of December 23, 2016 passed a resolution to name HSE MIEM after Alexander Tikhonov, and to create an Alexander Tikhonov scholarship programme.
HSE has been implementing LMS (Learning Management System) — an electronic system of education process support – for several years. A new service, called ‘Student Electronic Portfolio’ (StEP), which is based on LMS and gathers information about students’ achievements in various fields has been developed by the Administrative Staff Development Programme project group.
