On Tuesday, May 15, seminar "Supercomputer and Multiscale Modelling of Condensed Phase and Biological Systems" was held. A. Polyansky from IBCh RAS gave a talk "Atomistic mechanism of the constitutive activation of PDGFRA via its transmembrane domain". The result of this study was the molecular model of PDGFRa receptor activation, and the role of its oncogenic mutant form have been revealed. On the second part of the seminar students of SAMMA Laboratory reported on their projects.

International Students Invited to Apply to HSE’s Doctoral Schools

Admissions to tuition-free doctoral studies at HSE open on February 01, 2018. International students can choose from 15 PhD programmes in fields ranging from Mathematics to Art and Design. The programmes are offered at HSE campuses in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Nizhny Novgorod. It is not necessary to speak Russian in order to pursue a PhD at HSE – the thesis can be written in English. Several international students are already pursuing doctoral degrees at HSE and one of them, Keunwon Choi from South Korea, has shared his impressions with us.

We find creative work for robots


Sergei Borhsenius, is the head of the IT department at Robots City B.V., a company that develops robots and organises robot shows.In 2012, Sergei graduated from the Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (HSE MIEM) with a degree in applied math. During his time at the university, he also worked as an engineering researcher in the Research Laboratory of Space Research, Technologies, Systems, and Processes. He was also a programmer at LLC Inec-As. In 2012, Borhsenius became the head of the analytics department at Studinformo Polit Pro before entering into his current position at Robots City B.V.
