Creation of a long term operational modules for the cosmic radiation parameters monitoring based on wide-range semiconductor sensors for promising space transportation systems

Research Laboratory of Space Research is carrying out a project ‘Creation of a long term operational modules for the cosmic radiation parameters monitoring based on wide-range semiconductor sensors for promising space transportation systems’ under the governmental target program ‘Research and development in priority areas of Russian scientific and technological sector for 2014-2020’.
The research is linked to the development of new types of spacecraft scientific equipment designed for the registration of ionizing radiation and is carried out in close cooperation with the Industrial-Technological Center UralAlmazInvest, that is specialized in the creation of new types of devices build with the diamond and semiconducting materials. The industrial partner of the project is NPP Mikropribor
The project includes the development of the operational module for the cosmic radiation monitoring, which should ensure the registration of electron and proton radiation and movement of heavy charged particles in the energy range from 0.2 MeV to 10 GeV. The direction of the project reflects the priority of diamond-based detectors as the most promising class of equipment suitable for the monitoring of ionizing radiations in space.
