The main areas of scientific activity of the department correspond to the scientific mission of HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics in the aspect of engineering education in the direction of "Informatics and Computer Science" and science in the field of computer engineering.

Many scientific projects in the areas of research are carried out on orders from enterprises in various industries, as well as within the framework of the implementation of design and educational groups, where students are involved as performers. And also within the framework of the implementation of projects in the form of scientific and educational groups. Students, graduate students, teachers and researchers and interested persons from enterprises are actively involved in conducting scientific seminars in the field of specializations:
