Remote control of robotic devices

The goal of the project:

The goal of the project is to develop software to support the educational process at the UL CAD MIEM NRU HSE. Development of a program for remote control of robotic devices.
The software can be claimed by technical universities and laboratories to facilitate the process of controlling robotic devices using the Bluetooth / WiFi wireless data transfer protocol with an open structure of the transmitted data packet.

Expected results:

• Remote control system for robotic devices for Android OS.
• The ability to connect via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to devices, send and receive device control commands using the developed data transfer protocol, transmit video / audio streams, add supported devices and information about them to the database.
• Manage multiple devices at the same time.
• Configuring the user interface depending on the characteristics of the devices being controlled.

Current results:

• The ability to connect via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to devices, send and receive basic device control commands using the developed data transfer protocol, add supported devices and information about them to the database.
• Control multiple devices at the same time, without tracking connection status.
• Program interface designed in accordance with Material You.

Used technologies:

To create a program, Java 11 version is used as the main programming language. SQLite is used in conjunction with the Android Room library to implement device and protocol databases. To implement the user interface, the Google Material 3 library (“Material You”) is used. Moving between the screens of the program is done using the Google Navigation Library. The performance of the current version of the program has been tested both on Android OS and on Windows 11 (using the Windows subsystem for android system component).
