The School of Cybersecurity Studies conducts fundamental and applied research in information security, aimed at producing new breakthrough theoretical findings and practically significant results at the intersection of mathematics, computer science, physics, and electronic engineering. A number of the school’s projects are supported by grants from the Russian Science Foundation.
The school’s main research areas include:
- developing and assessing the security of classical, quantum, and post-quantum cryptographic information protection systems, including research conducted using supercomputer modelling
- developing steganographic methods and techniques for embedding digital watermarks in images, video, and text to establish authorship, detect unauthorised copying of information, and label products
- developing advanced wireless and quantum networks, as well as secure communications systems
- developing automated information security systems, including systems designed to protect against cyberattacks carried out by both external and internal threats
- developing protection systems and methods for the financial and credit sector, including methods for preventing electronic fraud
- developing automated systems for investigating computer incidents
- ensuring the security of artificial intelligence systems.
The school’s researchers regularly participate in international academic conferences and publish papers in high-level peer-reviewed journals.
