HSE University Tops Forbes Employer Reputation Ranking Once Again
Forbes Education has published its ranking of the top 20 Russian universities with the strongest reputations among employers. As in recent years, HSE University secured first place with a reputation index of 98 points. In addition, 67.2% of employers stated that they trust the quality of education provided by HSE University, an increase of three percentage points compared with last year.

HSE University has become the leading Russian educational institution by the number of first-place positions in national graduate employment rankings. The rankings are compiled separately for each field of study, taking into account the share of graduates who find employment and their salary levels. The university ranked first in areas such as Mathematics and Mechanics (Master’s level), Computers Science and Engineering (Bachelor’s level), Information Security (Bachelor’s level), Asian and African Studies (Master’s level), Economics and Management (Bachelor’s level), among others.

Parsa Farid Almasizadeh is the winner of the HSE Outstanding Alumni Award in the nomination ‘For Special Achievements in Career and Public Life among International Alumni of HSE University’. He was born and raised in Tehran and received his higher education in Russia. After completing his master’s degree at MIEM, he stayed on to work at HSE. Maria Andreeva became interested in satellite engineering in Year 6. Then, she was a prize-winner of the Top Class (Vysshiy Pilotazh) competition, gave lectures for school students, and took part in meetings with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. Two years ago, a satellite she helped develop was launched into space. This year, Maria entered HSE University to study on the Information Science and Computation Technology programme delivered by the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM). In an interview with the HSE News Service, the first-year student spoke about her passion for space and the opportunities she has found at the university.

HSE University’s CubeSX-HSE Satellite Launched into Orbit
On March 22 at 9:07 Moscow time, a Soyuz-2.1a rocket with a Fregat upper stage was successfully launched. The launch vehicle carried a total of 38 satellites from 18 countries into sun-synchronous orbits, including HSE University’s CubeSX-HSE satellite, which will conduct remote sensing of the Earth.

Nikita Pershukov, a 4th-year bachelor’s student studying Information Science and Computation Technology at the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE), has placed among the Russian national team’s expanded membership for the WorldSkills Russia competition in the ‘Network and System Administration’ category. In an interview with the HSE New Service, Nikita talked about the team selection process and what lies ahead for him and his fellow teammates.

Socially Relevant Engineering Projects by MIEM HSE Students

Explaining how robots work by means of a video game; teaching children to count by means of a smartphone; and teaching a mechanical prosthesis to ‘think’ by means of processing brain signals – these tasks are very different in technical terms. But all three have been solved by HSE students as part of their engineering projects and have helped to improve lives.

HSE Among the Leaders in Project 5-100

HSE has become one of three Russian universities to receive maximum points for the implementation of the Russian Academic Excellence Project. These results were announced following a meeting of the Council on Enhancing the Competitiveness of Leading Russian Universities among the Global Rresearch and Education Centres.
